LAIKA & NEMO
STUDENT - OSCAR WINNING PROJECT
“Laika & Nemo” is a short stop-motion animated film directed by Jan Gadermann and Sebastian Gadow. The story follows Nemo, who is distinct from others due to his diving suit. Despite feeling out of place, Nemo finds a friend in Laika, a cheerful and friendly dog. The film explores themes of loneliness, acceptance, and friendship as Nemo learns to embrace his uniqueness with Laika’s companionship. This touching narrative is brought to life with vibrant animation and a heartfelt storyline, resonating with audiences of all ages. Notably, “Laika & Nemo” won the Gold Medal in the Animation category at the 49th Student Academy Awards, underscoring its exceptional storytelling and artistic achievement.
Together with my fellow students during my studies at filmuniversity Babelsberg, I had the honor of contributing to this film and compositing a shot. The shot depicts Nemo riding his bicycle into the city.
